Celebrating one billion: New investments & tools for partners on Watch

In 2018, we launched Watch around the world to give people a place on Facebook to find videos they love and start conversations with friends, fans and even creators themselves. Now, more than 1.25 billion people visit Watch every month to engage with content that celebrates community and drives conversation.Over the past two years, we’ve seen a diverse range of partners eagerly embrace Watch – from established and emerging global creators engaging with fans, to publishers finding new audiences by distributing timely videos spanning news, sports and entertainment. These partners have successfully engaged Facebook’s audience of 1.25 billion to speak to their communities, surface new, innovative content and build digital revenue streams that are complementary to their business models – through in-stream ads, fan subscriptions and more.

Celebrating our partnersTo kick-start this diverse ecosystem of content in EMEA, last year, we announced a number of partnerships with broadcasters, creators and publishers across the region, who are using Watch in innovative ways to create content that is complementary to their owned properties – from ProSieben’s digitally-exclusive “The Masked Singer” after-shows; to Viacom UK’s popular cast-led Geordie Shore spin-off on Watch, “Geordie More”.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
